Privacy Policy

Effective date: To be finalized on production launch.

This policy describes how Bacorn™ (referred to as "we", "us", or "Bacorn") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you interact with bacorn.store and our services.

1. Information we collect

Contact and reservation information: name, email address, phone number (optional), postal ZIP code, preferred bundle, preferred cadence (for subscription waitlist), consent selections.

Business inquiry information: company, title, website, retail channel, location count, distributor, certifications, notes, and requested materials for wholesale, foodservice, events, press, production-partner, and strategic-partner inquiries.

Payment information: If and when paid orders open, payment card information is collected and processed by Stripe, not by Bacorn. We store only a Stripe customer/order reference.

Automatic information: device type, browser, referring URL, IP address, and pages visited. We do not use behavioral advertising trackers today.

2. How we use the information

• To fulfill reservations, subscriptions, and orders.
• To respond to your inquiries and route them to the correct team.
• To send you launch updates, Founders Batch progress, flavor votes, and wholesale/event announcements if you opt in.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the site and services.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share the information

• Service providers that help us operate the business (hosting, email delivery, payments processing, analytics). These providers are bound by confidentiality and only process data on our behalf.
• Legal requirements when we are required to disclose by law, court order, or to protect legal rights.
• Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to continued protection.

We do not sell personal information for commercial purposes. We do not share your address or phone number with unrelated third-party marketers.

4. Your choices

Marketing communications: unsubscribe any time via the link in every email or by emailing privacy@bacorn.store.

SMS: reply STOP to opt out of SMS updates. Reply HELP for help. Standard message rates apply.

Your rights: depending on your state or country, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information. Requests can be sent to privacy@bacorn.store. We may verify your identity before honoring a request.

5. State-specific rights (US)

Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA), and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have specific rights, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain data sharing. To exercise, email privacy@bacorn.store. We do not "sell" personal information as commonly defined.

6. Data security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. Payment processing is handled by Stripe under PCI-DSS-compliant controls. No system is 100% secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information as long as necessary to provide the services and for legitimate business purposes such as tax, accounting, and dispute resolution. Marketing lists are retained until you unsubscribe.

8. Children

Bacorn is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International visitors

Bacorn operates from the United States. If you visit from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. If applicable data-transfer safeguards are required (e.g., SCCs), they will be finalized with counsel before international paid orders open.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will change, and continued use of the site indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
